I began pulling together Infrastructure Digital Twins: A Leadership Short Course - Volume 1: Getting to know iTwins when I realized that many leaders at the forefront of designing, building, running and maintaining infrastructure were struggling to reconcile what they knew from the past with what this new approach was demanding of them or the future. The text explains the theory and equations on which the software is based, and each chapter includes several problems for the reader to practice their problem-solving and modeling skills. Readers are introduced to the modeling power of the latest software with access to continuously updated tutorials found in the Bentley Systems website. Linking hydraulic theory with real-world applications, CAiHE focuses on problem-solving skills and computer modeling of open channel and pressure pipe flow including culvert analysis and pumping systems, the design and analysis of storm and sanitary sewers, water distribution network design and analysis including transients and water quality, and stormwater management with Low Impact Development strategies.
